Who we are
Karori Childcare Centre is a small, community‑based, not‑for‑profit parent co‑operative where tamariki, whānau, and kaiako learn and grow together. We are licensed for up to 25 children, including 8 under two’s, in a warm mixed‑age environment that naturally supports tuakana‑teina relationships.

Our Philosophy
We are committed to nurturing and enhancing the mana of every tamaiti. Our kaiako prioritise each child’s unique needs, interests, and strengths, encouraging independence, self‑esteem, and a love of discovery through play and exploration.
Our Commitment to Inclusion
We celebrate diversity and strive to create an environment where all cultures feel valued. Te Reo Māori and Tikanga Māori are woven into our daily practice, alongside the many cultural identities within our community.
Whānau Involvement
As a community‑owned parent co‑operative, strong partnerships with whānau are at the heart of who we are. Whānau contribute through committee roles, working bees, shared celebrations, and everyday moments of connection at drop‑off and pick‑up. This involvement builds a strong sense of mana whenua and community.
Our Place in Karori
Located at 47 Beauchamp Street, we are part of the wider Karori neighbourhood. We value our local parks, people, and stories, and we actively weave these into our learning experiences.

We learn alongside tamariki, supporting them to grow in confidence and independence. Through play and exploration, children develop skills, curiosity, and a love of learning.

We support tamariki to make choices, express themselves, and take increasing responsibility in their play and learning, building confidence and leadership.
Tangata Whenuatanga
We celebrate identity, culture, and connection to place. Tamariki are supported to feel a strong sense of belonging, knowing who they are and where they come from.

We encourage care and respect for our environment, supporting tamariki to develop a connection with the natural world and their role within it.
